The principal gate of the palace connecting the inner court with the central court. There are eight gates in the same style. The Indo-Persian pointed arch is the door entrance. The door is quite high because the main vehicle of the period was the elephant. The many niches in the wall of the gate were for oil lamps. The pathway was finished in brick. The laying of a pathway instead of a staircase to reach a higher level was more convenient for those carrying a palanquin.

Chanthara Phisan Hall is the only building in this palace which has no windows or doors in the shape of pointed arches. One scholar suggested that this typically Thai architecture shows it was the first building erected in the palace compound. The small projecting annex to the main building is a typical form of architecture from the King Narai period. It is a small throne chamber used for receiving officials or envoys.
